Limited run of 'G.I. Jukebox' coming to Charleston

CHARLESTON — Central Illinois Stage Company will present the 1940s musical revue “G.I. Jukebox” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19-21 and at 3 p.m. Nov. 22.

Performances will be at the Praise Assembly of God, 1300 Osage Road, Charleston, which is on the north side of Illinois Route 16 conveniently located between Charleston and Mattoon.

The church will be transformed into a USO, with music made famous by the Andrews Sisters, Glenn Miller, Rosemary Clooney and more. Among the tunes included in the show are “I’ll be Seeing You,” “Moonlight Serenade” and “In the Mood.”

The cast features a female trio of Rachael Sapp, Casey Higgins and Kim Higgins. Other performers include Tom Hawk, Vicki Christy, Dave Shunk and Michael Ve.

To reserve tickets, call CISCo’s box office at 218-9954. All tickets are $10 each.

In addition, the cast and crew are encouraging people to bring in canned goods to benefit the Charleston Food Pantry, as part of the EIU 30 Days of Change Food Drive.
