LLC hosts donor
recognition reception

MATTOON — The Lake Land College Foundation recognized 19 donors who reached designated levels of lifetime giving at the annual Donor Recognition Reception that was held recently.

“For many of our donors, this is our first opportunity to publicly thank them for their contributions and for their continued support of the Lake Land College Foundation, the college and its students,” said Pam Crisman, vice president for development and foundation executive officer.

“Their continued support has allowed Lake Land College to be the success that it is today and that support is even more critical as we address the many challenges that the college and our students must face in today’s economy,” Crisman said.

The foundation has awarded 450 scholarships in the last academic year. These charitable contributions provide scholarships to students who may not otherwise have an opportunity to obtain a college education. Since 1990, the foundation has granted 6,206 scholarships totaling about $3.5 million.

Recognized for the Honorary Trustee Level was Gerald Forsythe, Marshall.

Recognized at the President’s Gold Club Level were the Joseph N. Hendrix Estate.

Those recognized at the President’s Club Level were John Burke, Bloomington; Community Banks of Shelby County; J&J Ventures, Effingham; Rotary Club of Mattoon; and United Parcel Service Foundation.

Those recognized at the Benefactor Level were Area Educational Credit Union of Mattoon; Stephen and Debbie Benefiel, Paris; Ervin Equipment Inc, Toledo; Fire Pro Corporation, Shelbyville; and Patterson Companies Inc, Effingham.

Those recognized at the Founders Level were State Bank of Arthur; Robbins, Schwartz, Nicholas, Lifton & Taylor Ltd, Chicago; William and Kathy Rowland, Mattoon; Rural King Supply, Mattoon, and Art and Jeanne Willenborg Family, Effingham.
