New Mattoon/Charleston area phone books being delivered
Cover features area high school band students

MATTOON — The 2009-10 issue of The Phone Book from Consolidated Communications, featuring a cover montage of area high school band students, is being delivered now to Mattoon and Charleston area residents, according to a company press release.

The official Phone Book of Consolidated Communications is packed with features, including a numerical cross reference guide that allows users to look up a phone number instead of the name. The directory also includes easy-to-read white and yellow page listings, and features several pages of Mattoon and Charleston area community information, city maps, governmental listings and a community calendar.

Brad Barker, Consolidated directory services manager, said he’s excited about the company’s new concept for the directory cover focusing on local student athletes and “celebrating the music of Mattoon, Charleston and the surrounding area.

“We feel our phone books are truly reflections of the communities we serve, so we focus on images that show pride and the spirit of community,” Barker said. “We’re proud to deliver this new directory to our customers in the Mattoon, Charleston and surrounding areas.”

The student athletes featured on the cover are Tyler Bugos of Arcola High School, Haley Stutzman of Arthur High School, Maura Shepherd of Charleston High School, Gaige Holsapple of Cumberland High School, Joseph Calio of Mattoon High School and Jacob Dow of Neoga High School.

The new directory is also available in an online version at the Consolidated Communications Web site www.consolidated.com. The online directory includes the same information as the printed directory, including white and yellow pages, and is easily searchable by name and business classification.

The online version also provides maps and driving directions to many businesses by clicking on the address and a link is also available to many advertisers’ Web sites.

In addition to the traditional directory that is being delivered to area residents now, The Phone Book from Consolidated is also available in a mini book format. The mini format is ideal for use in tight places such as vehicles or offices.

Both sizes of the directory are available at the Mattoon Communication Center at 1321 Charleston Ave., Porter Auto Body in Mattoon or Charleston, the Mattoon Chamber of Commerce and the Charleston Area Chamber of Commerce. Phone book recycling is also available in these locations.

" We enjoy the new books each year as ours look OLD from use. I like the mini in the car. I am glad for the space for a lot of numbers, and the restaurant sections and menus help me.
I then know what to order and send someone to get it. The yellow pages are handy and print big enough can see it. I like the numbers in BOLD BLACK.
Illinois C you did a good job on the telephone books. And thanks to those who deliver them. We delivered one year to Arcola and what a job. "
