Letters: Obama's agenda starting to scare people

The Obama government is beginning to scare people with its aggressive agenda.

It’s frightening to think that this government is in a control-mode.

Its concerning to me that there seems to be a take-over mentality. A takeover of banks, health care, the auto industries, insurance companies and the collapse of small businesses. And if there would be an “Energy” take over, like some have suggested, this would be dangerous for our independence and our freedom.

The focus in Washington seems to be in err of what our government was intended to be. The baldness of lies and the contradiction add to the alarm.

It appears that our Freedoms could be at stake.

The Senate and Congress which have been elected to represent and protect the rights of the people might need to take a lesson from history.

In doing this they could learn some lessons fro the Founding Fathers and do their job as it was intended at the beginning of our Republic.

Our nation is in distress and failure to do those things that would bring us out of this mess could result in this country of our’s going into a major depression.

Hundreds and thousands of people that truly care about this country are making their voices’ heard. When will our representatives wake up! And when will they represent and uphold the Constitution of the United States?

DELORIS CLIBURN

" Good, very good letter. Many people seem to want big daddy to take care of ou. The trouble is it stifels our ambition or at the very least holds it down because we will no longer think for ourselves and use our ow initative because poor little unintelligent us our poor little brains are not capeable we need big daddy to make our decisions while we stand around sucking our thumbs. WAKE UP PEOPLE OUR RIGHTS ARE BEING TAKEN FROM US. I might not have spelled some things right but you get the message! "

" Letters like this one are especially outrageous because of the fact that President Obama was absolutely honest and forthright about his agenda when he ran for President in 2008. His platform was stated quite openly and publicly during the campaign and yet people such as this letter writer act like they are surprised by what the President is doing. He stated his positions on various issues during the campaign, including his support for national health care, as well as his support for various spending measures. The Republicans criticized him for these positions at that time. It was all debated out in the open at that time. There have been no surprises! "

" I agree that Obama should probably have let the banks collapse. However, if he had done so the American economy would probably have collapsed along with the banks. And who would conservatives would have blamed for that? You guessed it -- Obama and the Democrats. "

Yes Jon, the peasants are running out with their pitchforks to protect the insurance companies who's putting the shaft to them, and the fires are being stoked by a so called news outlet featuring a raving lunatic. "

Three years after the former Florida congressman resigned amid disclosures that he was sending lurid text messages to teenage, male pages on Capitol Hill, a scandal in which Foley was never charged with a crime, he is taking a step back into public life -- this time as a radio personality.

Funny thing about that statement. The exact same sentiment was felt towards the previous administration and when the Republicans were in the majority. Then we had a couple of elections and more than hundreds of thousands of people made sure their voices were heard through their votes! "

" Shouldnt the liberal elitist pledge to give their wealth to support Obamacare?

The solution is simple. All the rich, left leaning Obama supporters that truly believe in Obama's Redistribution of Wealth policies and are overtly demanding Obamacare, can simply pledge all their wealth to make it happen.

The combined wealth of George Soros, Oprah Winfrey, Warren Buffet, Bill Gates and the Hollywood elites is more than enough to fund the Obamacare program. Well, maybe we will have to add the wealth of Kennedy Clan and perhaps the Clintons and Kerrys too.

When the above mentioned elitist and statist commit their wealth and future income to the cause for Obamacare will I truly believe it is about compassion? Until then, I believe it is more about power and tyranny.

May I suggest that the liberal trolls here do the same. Once you have proved to me you are willing to sacrifice your wealth to the cause Ill consider a token contribution.

Get off your lazy butts. Form a non-profit insurance foundation that will provide policies for all the uninsured based on their ability to pay without regard to pre-existing conditions. Please petition the wealthiest in this nation to donate to the maximum; even to the extent they may lose their position on the Worlds Wealthiest list. "

" Deloris, hundreds of thousands of people made their voices heard when they voted Obama into office and when they handed Congress to the democrats.

As for freedoms being at stake, that's only a concern if you prefer to charge $75 for a box of Tylenol. The corporations have been in power for long enough. Let's put people back in charge.

As for a major depression, perhaps you need to re-educate yourself. The economy was in worse shape at the end of the
Bush Administration than at any point since the Great Depression. We've already hit rock-bottom. Obama is merely trying to carry us back to the surface before the entire country drowns in a river of debt. "

Capitalism is not broken. Ethnics, morality, and common sense, along with those individuals charged with the oversight and running of state and federal governments, are broken. "

" To the liberals on this site what are your crooks currently in charge of the congress afraid of?

Senate Finance Committee Democrats have rejected a GOP amendment that would have required the health overhaul bill to be available online for 72 hours before the committee votes.

Hum here is a guess- could it be they are afraid that the American public will read their new bill and be outraged and flood them with their protests like they did on both stimuluss, the porkulas, cap and trade and the first Health Care fiasco?

Come on HP/fb/TQ and the rest dont disappoint us, spin this into a nasty plot by Fox or maybe you can claim it is a left over from the last crooks in charge. "
