Charlie Daniels at Du Quoin fair again

DU QUOIN (AP) — The Charlie Daniels Band will headline the grandstand entertainment at this year’s state fair in Du Quoin.

The group best known for the song "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" will perform on opening night of the fair, which runs from Aug. 29 through Sept. 7.

Other grandstand headliners include country music's Craig Morgan and Brittany Clark on Sept. 2, and Keith Anderson and South 70 the next day.

Other events include harness and motorized racing.

Tickets to grandstand shows are $25 to $30, although some free performances are planned.

It’ll be Daniels' fifth visit to the Du Quoin event. He last performed there in 2003.
