Lutheran women's convention scheduled June 6 in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD — The Central Illinois District-Lutheran Women’s Missionary League will hold its 64th annual convention on June 6 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Springfield.

Velma Price of Mattoon serves as the Champaign zone LWML president.

Pre-convention activities will be held on June 5, with various servant events, evening activities and a Sibling Harmony youth concert planned.

This year’s convention theme is “A Crown of Life,” with the message being taken from the readings of Rev. 2:10.

The convention will begin at 9 a.m. The registration fee is $25, and includes lunch. The registration deadline is Wednesday.

The guest speaker will be Pat Reichert of Hartford, N.D., who serves as the national LWML meeting manager.

Guest mission speaker will be Kristy Grannis of St. Louis. Grannis, who is mission projects administrator with LCMS World Mission, will share details on the current status of various mission projects that LCMS World Mission is coordinating.

For more registration information, contact the local LWML society or zone president or contact cjush40011@aol.com or marydenham@ymail.com before the deadline.
