March for Babies is Saturday in Effingham

EFFINGHAM — Locals from Effingham and Mattoon on Saturday will gather at Evergreen Hollow Park, Effingham, in support of babies born healthy.

The March of Dimes is committed to funding research to find the answers to premature birth and providing comfort and information to families who are affected.

Funds raised by March for Babies in central Illinois in the past have supported a NICU Developmental Continuity Follow-Up Clinic at St. John’s Children’s Hospital, and Southern Illinois University School of Medicine Springfield.

The March for Babies will include food and drinks for all walkers. Walk teams also can have their pictures taken by a photographer.

In Effingham, March for Babies is sponsored by Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Kmart and Farmers Insurance.

To join, visit marchforbabies.org or call toll-free (800) 525-9255 to sign up as an individual, to start a corporate, family or friends team, or donate to help babies be born healthy. Participants can pick up sponsor forms at Kmart.

For the latest resources and information, visit marchofdimes.com or nacersano.org.
