LETTER: Democrats want people dependent on feds

DALE STEVENS, Charleston

Most of us know that the Democrats only voters are the minorities, a few scattered senior citizens who have been devoted to the Democratic Party for so long they wouldn’t think of switching parties no matter what and of course the uninformed college children.

We all know during Obama’s campaign run (which is apparently still going on) that he supported comprehensive immigration reform or to put in plain text, give amnesty to the 15 million illegal immigrants that are already in the United States.

Now most people would think that since there are over 8.2 percent of the people in the United States unemployed that our government would have enough people to take care of without adding another 15 million welfare recipients.

However, when you get as many people as you can (which mainly ends up being the uneducated, somewhat uncivilized and uninformed) to be solely dependent upon the government to support them through Link Cards, Government Housing Projects, Medicaid, etc. then you have the start of socialism.

So the Democrats want to get as many people as they can to be solely dependent upon our government so they will in return vote Democratic.

Remember, the definition of socialism is, An Organization (Democratic Congress) in which the means of producing and distributing goods (produce link cards and distribute money on them) is owned collectively by the government that often plans and controls the economy, such as what’s happening right now with AIG and others.

DALE STEVENS

" Wow! Dale is convinced the end is just around the corner.

Perhaps we need to bring back some of Herbert Hoovers ideas to get us out of this mess. His policies seem to work so well for the last economic disaster.

Or how about the latest idea from the House Republicans, another massive tax cut for the super wealthy.

By Dale's definition FDR would be considered a Socialist. Funny that the history books don't say that. Most historians credit his programs for pulling us out of the great depression, and hopefully Obama's will do the same thing.

There are those who dispute that FDR's programs were successful, but then again there are people who think the earth is flat and is only a few thousand years old too.

A recent letter to the editor claimed that our entry into the second world war brought and end to the depression.

I guess that Iraq and Afghanistan didn't duplicate that success on the economy.

Let's wait until history actually occurs before we judge it. "

i say we amass all the trillions of dollars possible and ship it to wall street on pallets.....then we'll sit back and wait for that rapturous trickle down affect republicans have always promoted. "

" When Bush was selected to be president in 2001, the federal government had a projected $5.6 trillion, 10-year surplus. By the end of Bush's first year in office, the government had a deficit of $158 billion. At the end of his interminable eight-year term, Bush left with a record $1.2 trillion budget deficit and a staggering national debt of nearly $11 trillion.
That's what tax cuts for the rich, no-bid contracts to corporate crooks and drunken-sailor military-industrial complex spending buys you. So much for Republican "economic theory." "

He also doesn't understand that those minorities he is talking about are close to becoming the majority in the US. He might want to be a bit more considerate in the future. "

Bps wrote on Mar 27, 2009 7:19 PM:

" To those on the far left- yes you are 100% right that the last bozos in charge were screw-ups and primarily only served their own power base.

We live in the present. What the previous crooks in charge did is over.

The only thing that can be done now is try to prevent the current bozo elites from screwing up now!

What is overly troublesome to so many that arent the drop dead, support at all costs, kool-aid drinkering democrats is how fast the new bozos have and continue to spend money for programs that have as little potential returns as the last gang in charge.

The current gang in charge played their parts to enable the previous theft of huge sums of money from the American citizens and can be clearly shown to those with open eyes, to have received major benefits from Wall Street and the banking industries.

This same group, when confronted with these facts has the gall to protest their innocence and now claim to be the only ones who can fix the problems they themselves played a big part in creating.

A large portion of the populace knows that you cant borrow your way out of debt.

Your gang protests about the defects ran up by Bush, but then push through a stimulus bill and a bloated budget with over 9,000 earmarks. Now there is another stimulus bill and a new budget bill that looks to be even worse.

The chief in charge, after saying multiple times he would root earmarks out, then has the gall to say its last years business and signs it.

His party wrote it and he signed it that makes it his business and him a liar.

Before you protest how many earmarks the repub-u-tards added in your party wrote it and your guy could have vetoed it and didnt!

We have the Federal Reserve printing fiat money 24/7, creating it out of thin air. They pushed out trillions of dollars all over the world and have the impudence to tell us they wont say to whom it was given.

Take a look back through history at how well this type of monetary abuse has ever worked.

If you look with open eyes you will find it NEVER WORKS. All it brings is terrible inflation and economic collapse.

The last election was decided by 7.4% of the voters that bothered to vote. Not much more of a mandate than the previous winners supporters clamed.

Since this gang of three doesnt seem to listen to the citizen any better than any of the previous group and is hell bent on their clearly stated socialist programs to rock our system to its very foundations, there is little to no hope of even slowing them down until the 2010 midterms.

The question isnt if America is ready for the socialism that is currently being forced down the rest of our throats, it is if whats left will be even remotely recognizable as America? "

" For one I welcome these government programs, we need more than the present government has suggested or will do. Problem though is that without reducing the elites control over the economy you WILL have people dependent on the government. Saftey nets should be just that but when you have corperate entities that can't cut their own salaries to allow job growth. No matter how hard you try to get out of poverty, in our corperate world its hard to move up with in your own class let alone going up in an economic class.

Take a extermely qualified factory worker wants to become lower managment. He probley will never get too.(in fact the more he gets paid the more inclined they are to lay you off) Because the managment position went to a guy who has a buisness degree but doesn't understand the locale of the area, just getting to know the product, and doesn't understand the workers. This increases cost of the company at the expense of their labor force. More effeciently who could hire that factory worker, and only spend money on training for his position instead of almost everything since he has expirence. "
