Perhaps we need to bring back some of Herbert Hoovers ideas to get us out of this mess. His policies seem to work so well for the last economic disaster.
Or how about the latest idea from the House Republicans, another massive tax cut for the super wealthy.
By Dale's definition FDR would be considered a Socialist. Funny that the history books don't say that. Most historians credit his programs for pulling us out of the great depression, and hopefully Obama's will do the same thing.
There are those who dispute that FDR's programs were successful, but then again there are people who think the earth is flat and is only a few thousand years old too.
A recent letter to the editor claimed that our entry into the second world war brought and end to the depression.
I guess that Iraq and Afghanistan didn't duplicate that success on the economy.
Let's wait until history actually occurs before we judge it. "
