Entry forms now available for April Arthur Quilt Show

ARTHUR — Quilters from all over East Central Illinois will have the opportunity to win gift certificates worth up to $100 in the 20th Annual Arthur Quilt Show, to be held April 22-25.

Entry forms are available by contacting Wilma Herschberger, committee chairwoman, at 543-2287 or by e-mail at stitchandsew@consolidated.net. The entry deadline is April 15.

Entries will be judged in seven categories: Baby, Wall Hanging, Antique, Appliqué, Pieced, Combo and Embroidery.

Winners will receive gift certificates redeemable at participating Arthur merchants for first, second and third place in each category. The Best of Show, or Grand Prize, award winner will receive a $100 gift certificate.

Visitors will determine the winner of the People’s Choice Award. The People’s Choice Award winner will receive a ribbon.

The Arthur Quilt Show has become the largest spring quilt exhibition in Illinois Amish Country, attracting entries from all over Illinois, including many Amish-crafted quilts.

Last year’s four-day quilt show attracted 100 entries and more than 500 visitors.

Visitors will be able to purchase raffle tickets for a table runner to be given away by drawing on the final afternoon. The winner’s name will automatically be entered in the annual Arthur Amish Country Cheese Festival Quilt Raffle and will have a chance to win the queen-size Trip Around the World quilt to be given away on Labor Day.
