Dozens of employers scheduled to attend job fair this week



MATTOON — Nearly 60 employers will participate Wednesday in the 2009 job fair at Lake Land College.

Employers scheduled to attend represent agribusiness, health care, law enforcement, financial management, advertising, construction, special education, food services, broadcasting, trade skills, beauty services and the U.S. military. The potential job openings, ranging from apprenticeships to full-time employment, number more than 40 specific job categories.

Officials said the event, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the college Field House, is designed to connect those looking for new job opportunities with local and area business and industry leaders. The fair offers free booth space to employers.

In addition, the fair offers job seekers “visibility time,” interview experience and a quick, easy way to distribute copies of resumes and transcripts.
