Visitation for Sgt. Stream is today

MATTOON —  After a procession from the Schilling Funeral Home to Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church this morning, the family of Sgt. Scott Stream will host visitation at the church until 1 p.m.

Visitation is 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church with a memorial Mass to follow. Several members of the Effingham unit with whom Stream served in Iraq are expected to be at the Mass.

Stream, a Mattoon resident, was serving with the Effingham-based Company B, 2nd Battalion, 130th Infantry of the Illinois Army National Guard.

He was killed Feb. 24 in Afghanistan. Burial will be at a later date at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Hopkinsville, Ky.
