EXACTLY.

But everyone is so quick to condemn. "

" I think that we all should just stop judgement until the facts come out. It's well known that authoritative figures like to jump to conclusions and many parents have been unjustly accused of hurting their children.

"As the name implies, SIDS is the sudden and unexplained death of an infant who is younger than 1 year old. It's a frightening prospect because it can strike without warning, usually in seemingly healthy babies"

There have been a lot of people stating that they know this young man and he wouldn't do anything to hurt his baby.

SIDS is real and it does happen. I feel so sorry for this baby's family. I can't imagine the pain and shock that everyone is going through. I hope the authorities know what they are doing because if this man is innocent and sitting in jail accused of hurting his own baby, the pain and anguish he is feeling would be limitless. "

I agree with this 100%

I just wish everyone else would realize this. Michael is family and I love him dearly. So I may have a bias opinion, but the events him and our family are going through right is something you cant even put into words. Until the all the facts are presented, there shouldn't be so much hate.Everyone should be remembering Olyvia right now and the fact she had to be the innocent victim in this case. "

" I just wanted to thank everyone who has stood by with unwavering support and love for my brother Michael. He appreciates your prayers in this tragic time.

For those of you who are quick to judge and condemn him, I hope and I pray that your family never has to go through anything even remotely like this. But I can promise you this: if they did, I would give them the trust and support that you so nonchalantly deny my brother.

Your daddy loves and misses you, Olivia.

Love, Aunt Jenny "

" I honestly think everyone should realize there is a huge difference between SIDS, and shaken baby syndrome. Not very many people get thrown in jail, within a few days after an infant dies, w/ a large BAIL if the infant dies of SIDS. Think before you write, use common sense... "

central_il wrote on Mar 3, 2009 8:57 PM:

" I'm not really sure why everyone keeps mentioning SIDS. No one said that she died of SIDS. The preliminary autopsy suggests SBS because of her internal hemorrhaging and that's the most common cause in an infant. What they don't know is what happened to her to cause those head injuries. Were they inflicted upon her or was it the result of a condition? And a lot of people question who could be responsible if it was the result of a violent act. I don't believe it was the result of a violent act because of the mere fact that April and Michael are good, loving gentle parents.
A number of conditions present themselves with the same symptoms (or worse) than shaken baby syndrome. "

medic57 wrote on Mar 3, 2009 9:34 PM:

" Becky

SIDS babies don't have intercranial injuries and are rarely tranfered to another hospital as they are usually dead long before they get to the hospital. The name is as it implies Sudden infant DEATH syndrome. The baby has already died, long before it gets to a hospital and no one is ever charged. "

Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll said an autopsy determined the girl died of head injuries.

Injuries, not injury.

A number of conditions present themselves with the same symptoms (or worse) than shaken baby syndrome. "

What, playing basketball, or boxing.

My son's fell many times, went to the hospital many times, never once did the hospital question us. My oldest son had Cerebral Palsy and looked like a punching bag when he was 3 years old, yet, never a question from the doctors, even before he was diagnosed. Doctors do not make these accusations lightly.

Work in an ER for a while, it will open your eyes. "

central_il wrote on Mar 4, 2009 10:39 PM:

" Reply to medic57,

Umm, no, I didn't mention SIDS (sudden infant death syndome). I mentioned SBS (shaken baby syndrome). Two totally different things, and I agree, Olivia did NOT die of SIDS. The baby is usually sleeping when they pass in the night from SIDS. SBS is completely different. The head injuries were brain hemorrhaging. There were no other child abuse related injuries like broken bones or fingerpring bruising or anything of that nature.

If you had an aneurysm and it blew, would that be considered an injury? Yes. So brain hemorrhaging IS an injury. The question the rest of the autopsy will determine is HOW those injuries occurred. "

central_il wrote on Mar 4, 2009 10:41 PM:

" From what I know, there were a number of different people with the baby on the day she died, and the few days before that. If the cause of death is officially ruled as SBS, then I'm sure that everyone will be tracked down and grilled. And so they should be, if that sweet little baby lost her life at the hands of a caretaker. However, if it is a grave misunderstanding, which I pray, then friends and family can begin to reconstruct their lives "

Aneurysm are not caused by injuries, most are genetic. Brain hemorrhaging (not the same thing)is not an injury, it is the symtom of an injury. "
