Lake Land College offers retirement planning course



MATTOON — Are you ready for retirement? Find out during the Lake Land College Office of Community and Professional Program’s course titled Do I Dare Try to Retire?

Classes are being offered Feb. 2 at Charleston High School, Feb. 3 at Sullivan High School and Feb. 5 at the Kluthe Center for Higher Education and Technology in Effingham. All classes begin at 6:30 p.m. and are scheduled to last approximately two hours.

The class will be taught by Randy Lane of Tuscola, who is a registered representative for Investment Planners Inc. Lane will educate participants on topics such as the best investment tools, catching up on a late start to saving, understanding taxes, and creating greater financial security.

The cost of the class is $10 for one person. Spouses must enroll in the spouse section number, but can attend for free. To register online using a VISA/Mastercard go to www.lakelandcollege.edu/noncredit. Choose the Finance and Money link. To register by phone, call Admissions and Records at 234-5434. A statement for payment will be sent. The drop date for a refund is five business days prior to the start of the class.
