Schnabel appointed director of business development at St. Anthony's hospital



EFFINGHAM — St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital has announced the appointment of Annette D. Schnabel as the hospital’s new director of business development, according to a press release.

In this capacity, Schnabel will provide the hospital leadership to identify opportunities to improve service to patients throughout the region through improving current services, expanding service growth, and developing new services where needed to best meet the needs of those St. Anthony’s serves.

In this role, she will also play a vital role in building relationships with other health care providers, businesses, and community leaders across the region.

Schnabel comes to St. Anthony’s after serving as the director of rehabilitation and physician services at Clay County Hospital in Flora since 2003. Between 1997 and 2003, she served in various management roles in rehabilitation services for the Fayette County Hospital, Vandalia, and Sundance Rehabilitation Corporation, serving the central Illinois region of 28 skilled nursing facilities.

Schnabel began her career in health care as a caregiver in physical therapy caring for patients in hospital, home health, industrial rehabilitation, school-based and long-term care settings, and during that time, worked at St. Anthony’s.

As a doctor of physical therapy, Schnabel earned her Doctorate Degree at the A.T. Still University of Health Sciences, Arizona School of Health Sciences, in Mesa, Ariz. She completed undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois, Chicago campus. She is currently pursuing an MBA from Marylhurst University in Marylhurst, Ore.

She and her husband, Bill, have four children and reside in rural Dieterich.
