EIU lecture set on role of the United Nations

CHARLESTON -- All are invited to attend the public lecture, “The Role of the United Nations During the Obama Presidency,” being presented at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Eastern Illinois University.

Admission is free to the event taking place in Lumpkin Auditorium, Room 2030.

Visiting Scholar Kent Kille, a professor from the College of Wooster, will talk about the history of the United Nations and its challenges in facing new global security crises, and will also address how President-elect Barack Obama may work with the United Nations.

Kille, a distinguished scholar in political science, is the recent author and editor of two books on leadership at the United Nations.

His visit is being sponsored through the College of Sciences’ Visiting Scholar Grant and the EIU Department of Political Science.
