Area Christmas tree farms have a lot to offer

Coles County
HAGER TREE FARM, Choose and cut Scotch and white pine trees; tinted, shaken, bailed and drilled, $3.50 per foot. Pre-cut Fraser and balsam fir trees, wreaths, greenery, roping, grave pillows, blankets and crosses, hot wassail and cookies. Bird-seed Christmas ornaments, pin-type tree stands, tree bags, and dug trees. Hours: Monday through Thursday after 3 p.m., Fridays through Sundays, 9 a.m. to dusk. Located 6 miles east of Charleston on Illinois Route 16; turn south on County Road 2250E (at the Enon Baptist Church sign). The tree farm is one-half mile on the west side of the road. 349-8689.
NORMAN’S TREE FARM, Scotch and white pine, three needle lengths; cut, shaped and shaken; up to 9 feet tall; $25 each; open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily; wreaths, greenery $2 a bundle; Cozy Lane, Charleston, take Lincoln Highway Road, 1¼ miles south of the Bible Center Church, Charleston. TUCKER’S TREE FARM, Fraser fir, blue spruce, white pine and Scotch pine; live, dug and baled trees; trees are shaken, netting available; drill system tree stands. Gift shop with wreaths, roping, grave blankets and pillows. Free popcorn and hot chocolate. Kitchenview Clydesdale horseback rides and Santa Claus on weekends. Free cider tea and popcorn. KELLER TREE FARM, Norway and white pine trees; $4 a foot for most trees. Cookies, hot chocolate and free candy canes for the kids, sleigh rides (weather permitting). Tag a tree or cut it and take it with you. Grave blankets and wreaths by order. The farm is located 4 miles southwest of Toledo and 5 miles north of Jewett at County Road 375N. KISTLER TREE FARM, white and Scotch pines, balsam and Douglas fir; choose and cut; $10 and up; wreaths $10 and up; roping. Open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Located two miles north of Arthur and 2 miles east. Watch for the signs. 578-3367.
Edgar County
Stolz’s Christmas Trees and Greens, pre-cut Fraser fir, balsam fir, white pine and Scotch pine trees, along with wreaths, grave blankets, grave pillows and other holiday decorating items. Special orders are welcome. All trees and wreaths are on display inside a large machine shed. New tree drill: customers encouraged to bring their stand and they will set their trees. Open daily through Christmas Eve: 2 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
