Health-wellness clinic set Saturday at Old State Road Christian Church

CHARLESTON — Old State Road Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, will host a health-wellness clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The free clinic is open to the public. There will be a fee for flu and pneumonia injections.

Dr. Stanley Huffman, formerly associated with Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, and the Coles County Health Department are sponsoring the health screening.

There is no need for advance reservations.

Services to be provided include blood pressure screening, blood sugar tests, blood oxygen levels, and diabetes counseling, which are free.

Those planning to get flu and pneumonia shots are advised to wear loose-fitting clothing.

The church is located one mile west of the Coles County Fairgrounds at 13982 Old State Road.

For those traveling west of Charleston on Illinois Route 16, turn right on Beech Tree Road. Follow the road to the “T” and turn east. The church is one-fourth of a mile on the south side of the road.
