Walnut Grove Church to celebrate Homecoming

ARCOLA — Walnut Grove Christian Church’s Annual Homecoming celebration will be Sunday.

The church was established in 1889. Walnut Grove is an independent Christian church that strives to be real, relevant and relational. Whether Walnut Grove was “home” for a short season of life or a lifetime, church members extend an invitation to all for this year’s Homecoming celebration.

Activities for the day include: 8 a.m., classic worship; 9 a.m., fellowship; 9:30 a.m., Sunday School; and 10:30 a.m., Ignite! Worship.

The classic worship is in traditional style, and their contemporary service, Ignite, has a praise band. Sunday School is offered for all ages.

Pastor Brandon Hatfield will bring the message.

An all-church potluck will be served at noon. An afternoon concert featuring the group Higher Ground will begin at 1 p.m. A free-will offering will be collected.

Walnut Grove Christian Church is located at 12930 East County Road 1700 North in Coles County.
