Dieterich bank makes major gift to Friends of St. Anthony's

DIETERICH — On Oct. 14, the Board of Directors of the First National Bank of Dieterich voted to make a donation of $100,000 to the Friends of St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, according to a press release from the bank.

The funds will be used to support St. Anthony's Hope & Healing Campaign. The campaign has a goal of $3,500,000 and was launched to raise money for the Center for Advanced Imaging. The center will provide the latest state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment.

The First National Bank of Dieterich is the first area bank to support the campaign. Bank President Tom Niebrugge said, "The board didn't take long in reaching the decision to support this project. It will be a great community benefit. We felt it was important to send a message that this program is needed in our community and we wanted to provide St. Anthony's with some early momentum."

The Center for Advanced Imaging will include a new MRI Scanner; a Stereotactic Breast Biopsy System; a new 64-slice CT Scanner and Digital Mammography.

"These are the services that are most needed in our community," said Dan Woods, president and CEO of St. Anthony's. "We have already received generous support from our Hospital Board members and the donation from the First National Bank of Dieterich gives us confidence in going out to the community to invite their participation."

The Hope & Healing Campaign is currently forming a Steering Committee of local business and civic leaders.
