Ashmore designer honored at national event

ASHMORE — With the theme set as “Back to Basics,” Home & Garden Party’s conference in Las Vegas was filled with designers from across the nation, including Ashmore resident Debra Dunning, who not only came back with an enhanced understanding of the company and direct selling industry, but also with an award in hand.

Dunning was honored with the Consistency Club Award, according to a company press release.

“It was an unforgettable experience to be recognized among my fellow colleagues and the Consistency Club Award is very special to me. I am so proud to have been acknowledged for my hard work and dedication towards this amazing company,” Dunning said. “On the same note, the conference was filled with great designers and great speakers, including our founders, new president and other enlightening guests!”

One highlight of the conference was guest speaker Patrice Matteson, internationally known speaker, trainer and consultant in the areas of sales processes, activity management and telephone techniques. Matteson is the CEO of Dynamic Productions and author of “Mom’s on the Phone.” She has more than 20 years experience in the direct selling industry and is specifically trained in income producing activities, Dunning said.

“Hearing Patrice Matteson speak was really a fulfilling experience because she shared down-to-earth tips that I can easily incorporate into my business here in Ashmore,” Dunning said. “With her extensive experience, she was able to give all of us something that we can bring back and implement in our prospective communities. And, the discussions from our corporate speakers were really interesting, as well.”

Penny and Steve Carlile founded Home & Garden Party 12 years ago in their hometown of Marshall, Texas, with a goal to offer the best in products, service and opportunity. The foundation of the company is built on their concept of making dreams come true through the direct sales opportunity.
