Oktoberfest set Saturday at St. John's



MATTOON — Oktoberfest will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 200 Charleston Ave.

Coffeecake and coffee will be from 8 to 10 a.m. and brats with all the trimmings will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The brats meal will include a brat, red cabbage, German-style potato salad, German mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, dessert and a drink for $7. A brat or hot dog lunch with chips, dessert and a drink will be $5.

Other activities include a collectible shop and a country store, with a variety of breads and desserts.

German music will be provided by Warren Lane of Sullivan.

This event is sponsored by St. John’s Lutheran Friendship Guild. Matching funds will be provided by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
