Panthers are 20th, 21st in FCS ranking



CHARLESTON -- With shuffling at the top, Eastern Illinois stayed nearly the same in NCAA Football Championship Subdivision rankings Monday.

The Panthers are No. 20 in the Football Coaches poll for the second straight week and moved up on spot to No. 21 in the Sports Network’s poll of media and administrators..

Jacksonville State, which is to visit Eastern on Saturday afternoon, is No. 27 in the Sports Network poll and No. 30 in the coaches’ poll.

Both polls have new No. 1 teams.

After knocking off previous No. 1 Appalachian State, James Madison went from fifth to No. 1 in the Coaches poll and is second behind Richmond in the Sports Network list.

Tennessee State, 4-0, joins Eastern Illinois among Ohio Valley Conference teams in the top 25. The Tigers are ranked 23rd by Sports Network and 25th in the Coaches poll.
