Area nursing college to be featured on Oxygen

CHARLESTON — Lakeview College of Nursing will be highlighted on a television show that will air nationally this weekend.

The college was chosen to be part of the “Careers that are Rewarding” segment for the “Today’s Family” educational television series last year. The show was filmed at Lakeview in January and produced for multiple airings on the Oxygen and ION television networks.

The first national airing of the show will occur at 5 a.m. Saturday on the Oxygen Network.

The segment includes statistics on the need for nurses, career opportunities in the field, and information on Lakeview’s history and current Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Program.

Additionally, the show included interviews with Lakeview Dean of Nursing Sara Rich Wheeler of Covington, Ind.; Lakeview alumna Erica Dixon of Mundelein; and Lakeview alumnus Larry Shane Hilton of Covington, Ind.

Lakeview College of Nursing has campuses in Danville and Charleston.
