Arcola couple helps raise funds for cancer society

ARCOLA — It’s no surprise that Barbara and Jesse Adams, Arcola residents and Diamond Infinity Designers for Home & Garden Party, jumped on the opportunity to give back to the community.

As designers for the company, it is not only their mission to offer local residents high-quality home décor, but it is also a top focus to make a difference in people’s lives, according to a company press release.

That is why they were both willing to help the company raise $1 million for the American Cancer Society.

“I really care about my community, and wanted to make some type of contribution that truly meant something. Therefore, I was delighted to take part in the company’s ‘Give Hope’ campaign, which helped raise money to go towards cancer research and awareness,” Jesse Adams said. “I am thrilled to say that I was able to help Home & Garden Party reach the $1 million mark so that the American Cancer Society can continue the fight against cancer with all the efforts they do.”

Home & Garden Party created the Give Hope fundraising campaign in 2001 so that its employees, designers, and customers could contribute to the company’s commitment to help fight cancer and assist in various patient support programs and research. Founders Penny and Steve Carlile began the fundraiser by pledging to match the first $50,000 raised by its designers.

Founded in 1996 by Penny and Steve Carlile, Home & Garden Party specializes in tabletop stoneware, candles, framed art, gourmet food mixes and home décor. Its products are sold via home parties conducted by thousands of registered Designers from coast-to-coast in the United States.

Additional information about product or business opportunities is available via the company Web site at www.homeandgardenparty.com.
