Coles County Farm Bureau picnic, silent auction coming up

Come join the fun at the Coles County Farm Bureau Annual Picnic on Aug. 22. The picnic is available to all Coles County Farm Bureau members and families. The Coles County Farm Bureau Foundation will also be holding a silent auction to raise funds for scholarships and Agriculture-In-The-Classroom programming.

The picnic and silent auction will be held Aug, 22 at the East Pavilion in Morton Park in Charleston. The silent auction will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6 p.m.

Please make your reservations to the office at 345-3276 or 234-2125. Reservations are requested by Aug. 18 to ensure there will be plenty of food.

The Foundation was established in 1993 to provide scholarships to assist students furthering their study in an agricultural field, encourage and fund agricultural related education and research, and to assist in funding local teachers who are participating in the Summer Ag Institute.

Mary Cox is the manager of the Coles County Farm Bureau.
