Bower 12th in national swim meet



EVANSTON -- Charleston’s Michael Bower finished 12th in the 200-meter breaststroke at the Illinois Swimming Long course State Championship swim held at Northwestern University.

Bower qualified 16th in preliminaries moved up to 12th in the finals with a time of 2 minutes, 39.46 seconds. This time qualifies Bower for a return trip to the YMCA Senior Short Course National Meet to be held in April 2009 at the International Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Bower qualified for “C” Finals in the 400-meter

individual medley with a 5:07.37. He also competed in the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke during this four-day meet.
