Martinsville school registration to be held Thursday

MARTINSVILLE — Registration for Martinsville school district students is scheduled for 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday at the elementary school.

Registration fees for grades kindergarten-12th are $40. Class dues for grades 7th-12th are $6. The high school driver education car fee is $50 per student.

The following classes have a $12 fee: agriculture, art, band, biology, chemistry, computer, consumer education, home economics, industrial arts, and physics. Lake Land College dual credit classes will be $24 per class.

There is a $25 athletic fee per sport, with a maximum of $50 per participants for grades elementary-12th. Students participating in cooperative sports will not be subject to this fee.

Athletes are students participating in scholastic bowl, cheerleading, football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, and softball. All students participating in athletics should submit their physical forms.

Registration forms can be downloaded from www.martinsville.k12.il.us for completion before Thursday to speed up the process. Forms also will be available for completion at registration.

Eligible busing students will be transported by MSB Transportation Services of Paris.

The state requires physicals for students who will be entering preschool, kindergarten, sixth grade, and ninth grade, as well for new out-of-state students.

For this year only, if a current sixth grader had a physical before starting the fifth grade last year, they are not required to have another physical.

The state also requires students entering kindergarten, second, and sixth grades to have dental examinations.

Students entering kindergarten or first time student enrolled in this district are required to have an eye exam.

Kindergarten students should bring a copy of their birth certificate to registration.

If registration is not possible on Thursday, children should be registered in their respective school buildings the following week.

Breakfast prices for elementary-high school are $1.25 and adults $1.50. Lunch prices for elementary-high school are $2 and adults $2.25.

Bluestreak Passes will be available for adults at $60, parents of athletes at $50, and students and senior citizens at $40 each.

The first day of school for students is 8-10 a.m. Aug. 21. The buses will run as normal. A full student attendance day will begin on Aug. 22.
