The National Weather Service has issued an alert. Click here for full text of the alert.

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS DOUGLAS COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS EDGAR COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS NORTHERN COLES COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS VERMILION COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS * UNTIL 530 AM CDT THURSDAY * AT 530 PM CDT...FLOODING CONTINUED ON SEVERAL RURAL ROADWAYS IN THE WARNED AREA. SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING INTO AND DEVELOPING ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. * THERE WILL BE SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AREA EARLY TO MID EVENING...WITH A CHANCE OF MORE THUNDERSTORMS OVERNIGHT. ANY ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WOULD SLOW THE RECEDING OF THE ALREADY HIGH WATER...AND COULD WORSEN THE FLOODING PROBLEMS IF ADDITIONAL SIGNIFICANT RAIN OCCURS. THIS FLOODING IS THE RESULT OF THE 3 TO 5 INCHES OF RAIN THAT FELL ACROSS THE AREA TUESDAY NIGHT AND EARLY THIS MORNING. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS SWIFTLY FLOWING WATERS OR WATERS OF UNKNOWN DEPTH BY FOOT OR BY AUTOMOBILE. FLOODING IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS AT NIGHT...AS DARKNESS OBSCURES THE DANGERS OF FLOODING. TO REPORT FLOODING...HAVE YOUR LOCAL ESDA...OR THE NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY...RELAY YOUR REPORT TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE. $$ Issuing Weather Forecast Office Homepage
