Handyman service available for jobs large and small

MATTOON — Blake Babbs takes on all kinds of home improvement projects.

Babbs started the Reliable Handyman Service in September with such services as interior painting, drywall repair and power home washing.

Unlike some larger contractors, Babbs said he will take on small drywall projects like patching a hole in the wall.

“There is no job too small,” he said.

Babbs considers his speciality to be interior painting, but he said he is willing to do any kind of “handyman” work.

He also does vehicle detailing.

Babbs can supply free estimates for a project and said he has a reasonable hourly rate.

A 2003 graduate of Mattoon High School, Babbs said he first became interested in doing a handyman business when he took the building trades class at the high school for two years.

The name of his business is Reliable Handyman Service because Babbs said he is someone others can rely on.

“I am dependable, someone you can trust in your home,” Babbs said.

Some music enthusiasts might also recognize Babbs as the guitarist for the band Full Circle, which has performed at Our Daily Bread Cafe in Mattoon.

Reliable Handyman Service is available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Saturdays if needed.

Babbs can be reached at 246-7611 or handymanblake@yahoo.com.
