New owners to emphasize growth, not change

ASHMORE — Jerry and Shirley Willison of Oakland have purchased Coffey Real Estate in Ashmore from Jim Coffey.

Coffey will remain with the business which he has owned for 38 years. His wife Joanie has worked off and on over that time. He will be the broker/manager.

The growth will come in the increase in sales people from the current four to seven within the year.

The office will remain at 212 North Oakland Road in Ashmore and the phone number will still be 349-8686.

The secretaries will be the same: Julie Coe, Jim and Joanie’s daughter, and Rachel Veach.

Coffey farmed for several years before he turned to real estate, forming a partnership with a friend.

When he started, Coffey sold both homes and acreage but that has changed to mostly homes today.

“Being in real estate you have to like people,” Coffey said.

Jerry Willison said, “Shirley and I thought about this for several years. The timing was right.”

And Shirley commented, “I’m excited to become a part of the expansion and future growth.”

The Willisons both plan to be part of the business.
