LETTER: Take deep breath, and vote for Obama

I think it is past time to turn the page, let in some fresh air, and vote in someone who can lead, not divide. Barack Obama is that breath of fresh air and truly has a record of reaching across the aisle and getting things done.

A few facts that have been distorted lately. Barack Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961 to a white mother from Kansas, and a black father from Kenya (who did not practice Islam) Barack was given his father’s name. When Barack was two his father moved back to Kenya and was later killed in a car wreck. When Barack was six, his mother married a man who worked for Shell Oil. They moved to Indonesia where he went to Catholic school for two years, then for a short time a public school, not a madrassa!

At 10 he moved back to Hawaii and lived with his grandfather, who marched in Patton’s army and his grandmother, who worked in a defense plant during the war. They taught him the Pledge of Allegiance at three and he’s been reciting it ever since. He always places his hand over his heart and has led the pledge in the Senate many times.

Concerning Barack’s faith, his mother was an anthropologist and did not follow any organized religion, but was in awe of God’s creation and instilled that in her son. She taught him to respect all the great religions. Barack Obama, is not and never has been a Muslim. He is a Christian and has been a member of Trinity United Church of Christ for 20 years.

He was sworn into the Senate on his personal family Bible, not the Koran!

Senator Obama graduated from Columbia and Harvard. He taught constitutional law for 10 years. As a state senator and a U.S. senator he has worked tirelessly across party lines to get things done. He currently serves on the committees for Armed Services, Foreign Relations, Veterans Affairs and believes our responsibility to our vets is a sacred trust. Senator Barack Obama has more foreign policy experience than Carter, Reagan, Clinton and, obviously, G.W. Although G.W. put more experience on his cabinet than any other U.S. President...How's that working for us?

Take a deep breath...turn the page . . . vote Obama!

" I am very excited to see what the future may bring with Obama in the oval office. Although we have a long way to go before the big election, I am optimistic that Americans are ready for change and will not settle for less. The last 7 seven years, this country has been humiliated by our leaders. After the futuregen $crewing we have taken, I am counting the days until this administration is a memory. Obama is the only one I will vote for. "

I'm not an Obama supporter, but it isn't hard to find the truth if people stop believing every mass email they get. "

" I sincerely think that having our nation ran by two different families for a total of 28 years ALREADY --- is enough! Another Clinton in the White House could mean a total of 34 years with the Bush, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton name as our leader. You have to wonder what our allies think with us CLAIMING to be a democracy when we have only TWO families being the DECIDERS.

Will I vote for Hillary over ANY republican at this point - yes, but ONLY if I have to. I want the VERY BEST for our nation - that is Barack Obama.

" The Whitehouse is not a family timeshare. Putting another Clinton in there will mean at least 28 years of Bush/Clinton administration. That is not what our country needs. It is time for change, a true change that we can believe in. Not another politician that is backed by lobbists and the same old routine we have seen for the last 24 years. Obama brings us that hope. Barack the Vote! "
