Softball to host preseason hitting clinic

CHARLESTON– Eastern Illinois softball has announced it is to be hosting a preseason hitting clinic for advanced high school players in late January.

The clinic is set to feature two sessions Jan. 27. Each session is limited to 20 participants, a number enforced to ensure one-on-one hitting instruction with the EIU coaching staff and players.

“This clinic offers two hours of intense teaching and training focused solely on offensive skills,” EIU coach Kim Schuette said. “Participants will be put through a series of instruction and drills, ranging from the mechanics of a fundamentally sound swing to many of the more advanced techniques used within our own team practices.”

The cost is $100 per participant, with the clinic being held at Lantz Fieldhouse. Session one runs from Noon to 2 p.m., with session two following from 2 to 4 p.m.
