Kansas church to hold auction fund raiser
The Kansas Christian Church will be having an auction at 5 p.m. June 15, with proceeds going to youth groups and the purchase of a new sound system.
The auction will be held at 203 E Jefferson, Kansas.
Items include several antiques from the attic and storerooms at the church.
Also some items from two estates have been donated. Mark Schackmann, auctioneer, has donated his time for the auction.
The youth groups will serve food.
Some of the items available will be old church pews, children’s Sunday school chairs, library table, blanket box, lanterns, large blackboard, light fixtures, lots of household and miscellaneous. items.
Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship to meet Monday
Steve Shirk, president of His Glory Ministries, will be the speaker at the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship meeting Monday.
The meeting will begin at 5:45 p.m. in the back room at What’s Cookin’ Restaurant in Charleston.
His Glory Ministries is affiliated with Walking With God Ministries International, an international evangelism, revival crusade, and church planting ministry.
Shirk is also a psalmist and has several Christian Recording projects.
The local chapter of Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship meets on the second Monday of each month.
Meal time begins at 5:45 p.m.
‘Avalanche Ranch’ is VBS theme
“Avalanche Ranch” is the theme of this summer’s Vacation Bible School at Old State Road Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, at 13982 Old State Road, Charleston.
VBS Registration for children ages 4-12 is currently underway and will close June 17.
The week-long session will begin June 18 and conclude June 22. The hours are 9 a.m. to noon.
Children will learn about Christ’s love and will hear Bible stories, sing songs, make crafts, and play games. Refreshments will be served each day.
Forms may be picked up at the church office, or they can also be mailed. Call the church office at 345-3003.
East Side Community Church to have guest speaker
East Side Community Church, 512 S. 9th St., Mattoon, is hosting special services on Sunday and June 17.
Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m. and worship is at 10:45 a.m. both Sundays.
Guest speaker Kevin Ashby is scheduled to conduct a healing service both Sundays.
Each Sunday night, June 10 and June 17, Evangelist Terry Newman will be the speaker at 6:30 p.m. both Sundays.
The Hinchees gospel singing duo are also scheduled during morning worship on both Sundays.

Prayer Vigil for Life set in Mattoon
The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 320 N. 21st St. Mattoon, will host the June 18 Prayer Vigil for Life.
The Rev. Dennis Kollross, pastor, will be celebrant and homilist for the 6:30 p.m. Eucharistic liturgy. Praying the scriptural rosary will follow.
A short segment of the June Lifetalk news video will be viewed prior to the 7:30 p.m. business meeting in the Parish Center.
Macedonia Church to host bible school
Vacation Bible School is set at the Macedonia Baptist Church, where it will teach about the true heroes in life.
VBS is planned for June 18 to 22, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the church in Casey.
Kids will see that true heroes are ordinary people, like themselves, who follow God’s plan for life.
In each day’s game, kids will be introduced to heroes of the Bible.
Organizers will have action songs in the Worship Rally Arena, study God’s word in the Bible Study Locker Room, play games, eat snacks and make crafts in the Crafts Fan Zone.
All children from kindergarten through sixth grade are welcome.
The family program will be at 6 p.m. June 24.

VBS to start at Praise Assembly
Praise Assembly of God, 1300 Osage Road, off of state Route 16 between Charleston and Mattoon, will be holding a week-long Vacation Bible School beginning Monday and continuing through June 15.
VBS will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. for children ages 4 to 11.

The Link Family to be at Mount Zion Block Church
The Link Family, a family bluegrass and gospel singing and playing group, is scheduled at the Mount Zion Block Church, Hazel Dell Road, in Greenup.
The program will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, at the church.
The church is located 4 miles south of Greenup, on Route 130, to the Hazel Dell Road. Turn left and then travel two miles.
