'Let the Fun Shine In' golf outing planned by Charleston chamber

CHARLESTON — Registration is now being taken for the Charleston Area Chamber of Commerce 32nd Annual Golf Outing June 22 at Bent Tree Golf Course.

The title sponsor for this year’s outing is Citizens National Bank of Charleston.

The committee is planning to “Let the Fun Shine In” all day with golf, networking, contests, prizes, food, drinks, and more. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at 11 a.m. The all-inclusive fee of $100 covers everything for the day,

Golfers can compete for $5,000 in the Putt Contest beginning at 10:30 a.m. with the final putt-off just before noon. Participants qualify by sinking 15-foot and 30-foot putts. Elimination rounds will continue until one final golfer remains to attempt a 50-foot putt for the $5,000 prize.

Tee time for foursomes is at noon. Prizes will be awarded for winners in each division — Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed. Various skill contests on the golf course include four hole-in-one chances and four other contests: longest putt, longest drive for men and women, and closest to the pin.

All golfers are welcome to “Meet and Greet” at the complimentary Pina Colada stand near the 18th hole and enjoy some refreshing blender drinks. The stand is sponsored this year by Pro-Mow Lawn Care.

The Par 3 Poker contest sponsored by Charleston Rehab & Health Care Center and Lakewood Village combines skill and luck for a chance to win $200. Hole-in-One prizes include two vehicles donated by Mooney Motors and Diepholz Chevrolet Buick Pontiac GMC Cadillac, $3,000 in cash and $1,000 cash.

At the end of the day, golfers will finish up with a social hour and buffet style dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m. Immediately following dinner, the contest winners will be announced and prizes awarded.

The Golf Outing is open to chamber members and their guests. Registration forms are available at the chamber office, 501 Jackson Ave.

Registration fee is $100 per person for an all-inclusive day of golf including the Putt Contest for $5000, 18 holes of golf, cart rental, mulligans, refreshments, lunch, give-aways, Par 3 Poker, “Beat the Pro Contest,” all skill contests, dinner and more.

The deadline for registration is June 15. For more information or to request a registration form, call the chamber office at 345-7041.
