Young chefs invited to attend Kids Cooking Academy at EIU

CHARLESTON – Children who enjoy working in the kitchen will have the opportunity to learn more about their hobby during a three-week Kids’ Cooking Academy at Eastern Illinois University.

The program is open to children ages 9 to 13.

Classes will meet on campus on June 12-14, June 19-21 and June 26-28. Children can choose to attend either the morning session (10 a.m. to noon) or the evening session (6 to 8 p.m.).

The $55 registration fee includes a cookbook, an apron, all supplies, cooking lessons, etiquette tips, nutrition education and at least one field trip per week to a restaurant.

Students will be awarded certificates of completion at a graduation reception/tea.

Registration will end June 5 or when classes are full. Classes are limited to 12 students in each session.

For more information or to register, contact Diane Highland in the EIU School of Continuing Education at 581-5116 or dehighland@eiu.edu.
