Additional speakers will include Ben Tracy, University of Illinois professor of agroecology, who will cover “Beef Project Agronomy Update,” and Ed Ballard, retired University of Illinois Extension animal systems educator, who will provide a “Beef Project Grazing Update.” Also on the program is Justin Sexten, animal systems educator from the Mount Vernon Extension Center who will discuss “Importance of Forage & Feed Testing.”
You will also have the opportunity to view the beef handling facilities, the grazing paddocks, and the cropland which feature a corn-spring oat rotation and will be utilized for winter grazing. Some continuous corn has been planted on the farm and this will not be grazed in the winter.
